Captain Hammer is the arch-nemesis of aspiring supervillian Dr. Horrible. A superhero who possesses super-human strength and near-invulnerability, his powers are second only to his massive ego. Hammer is arrogant, self-centered, and his good deeds are never performed for selfless reasons but rather so he can bask in the devotion of his fans. Hammer can best be described as a popular bully, and he takes pleasure in harassing Dr. Horrible for fun, even when the situation does not warrant it. Captain Hammer and Dr. Horrible ultimately clash over Penny, their shared love interest and ultimate victim of their affection.

Construction Notes:
I'm a big fan of Nathan Filion and when Dr. Horrible came out I had to add Captain Hammer to my cosplay list. This costume is entirely store-bought; the pants, boots, and gloves were found items and the shirt was mass produced when the short film came out. This is a great comfortable costume to wear at cons, especially at night. I always manage to find several Dr. Horrible cosplayers to joke around with when wearing it too, which makes it a lot of fun.
